Hello, Everyone,

Hugh had an amazing service yesterday at the Green Hills Cemetary.? M.J. Tucci, Hospice Chaplain led us through the ceremony.? She did a marvelous job interweaving Native American and Catholic spirituality.? Kat Williams sang Hugh's requested songs.

We presented Hugh with tobacco to give back to the earth and a rock for his eternal medicine wheel. Other gifts were a box of Altoids.? Hugh rarely got into the car without having one and offering them to passengers.? Our grandson, Kayden left Pop Pop his stick.? Hugh's custom was to take the boys into the woods and give them a stick to play with. I'm sure Hugh loves his gifts as much as each person who offered them.

I believe Hugh wanted laughter in addition to tears, so he provided some comic relief.? A train came by just as M.J. was reading a story about life and wisdom.? Naturally, the? children got very excited, saying "choo choo, choo choo" and the adults were laughing and crying at the same time.? It was simply a matter of giving over to the divine emotions in all of us.
